Eric and Cody made an instant connection sitting on the back row in medical school. And Amber and I became the best of friends soon after. We took care of each other while the boys spent many more hours together than they did with us.
We have so many great memories....a road trip to Vegas, dinner and "24" on Monday nights, girls night at the movies, Chick-fil-a coupons, swimming at Mark and Tiffany's, watching movies on the big bed in our room, the yearly "Prom", a graduation trip to Mexico. Many tears were shed the day we helped them load the truck, and had to say goodbye.
They have been such a blessing in our lives. We would not have made it through the trials we faced at that time without them. Who else could I ask to spend over an hour on the road to bring the baby to me at the hospital to be fed. Who else would come stay with the baby in the middle of the night when Eric was so sick. Who else would truly share in our heartache, and worry, and then bring the much needed smiles and laughter. They have been an answer to prayer countless times. Michigan is just too far away!
